Out of thin air

Well, I've been neglecting this blog for ages! I feel like I've been in a hole somewhere.. (Perth lol) yeh.. since I moved back in Dec it's been pretty mellow and shall i say BORING! Missing melbourne and the crazy stuff we get up to - or lack thereof - shopping's exciting isn't it?

From where I last left off, I blogged from the lobby of the Courtyard in Surfer's Paradise! I still remember our holiday like it was yesterday. 3 theme parks in 3 days.. how crazy was that?! Superman at movie world was still as good, and I got to sit in the front car this time! how exhilarating. too bad chloe and judy didn't want to sit up front with me.. so i sat with this random older guy whose family was too chicken to go on the roller coaster :) that was good! The Batman ride.. pretty good as well, but nothing compared to the Giant Drop at dreamworld!

Dreamworld was soo crowded when we got there.. each ride had like a 20 min queue all day! Nevertheless, I pursuaded Judy to go on the tower of terror and motocoaster with me. The weather was not on our side today.. started storming while we were queuing for the motocoaster.. and we had to wait like 30 mins for the ride to restart, after which we gave up and went to some random ride which took us up HIGH while spinning in circles.. with the rain splattering on our faces like knives being thrown at us. Painful, but yet fun. Of course, we were drenched by the end and had to strip and wring our clothes dry! A modest strip, nothing to see.. moving on. lol

White Water World was #3, and by far the most enjoyable water park i've been to for a while! Loved all the rides, especially the hydracoaster, albeit a 30min wait which we filled with playing chopsticks, poking each other and other random time fillers. What a great time! Chloe and I even went on the Blue Ring Octopus with the giant slide.. finally conquered my fears! go chloe for going with me! :D

The days pass by with out much injury till that day, where Judy scraped her toe at the park, Chloe bruised her head on the Superman, my bruised ears from lethal weapon which I couldn't sleep on, and of course, the lovely cuts which i inflicted on myself in the HOTEL POOL (of all places) and left a hole in my gorgeous mug (haha). It's all gone now, with just a faint pink tinge on my chin, barely noticable anyway.

What a great holiday that was; typing this almost makes me want to go again!! Of course, all good things must come to an end, and we got back to Melbourne in preparation for our upcoming graduation.

The day finally arrived, and began so damn early since mum, bro and I had to share our little bathroom, not to mention my lovely housemates who seemed to have slept through our whole shananigan in the morning :) Got to the hair salon at 10 to get our hair done, and mum's makeup.. while we fooled around with our camera, taking before and after pics hehe. Then proceeded to Gloria Jeans (yeah I know.. as if we can't get enough) for some coffee, while feeling way overdressed for Bourke St. But hey, who cares.. we looked HOT!! lol.

The ceremony was filled with trigger happy photographers, and aching facial muscles. A long and boring ceremony caused by the Dean of Arts going on about game theory and prisoner's dilemma at our graduation for some unknown reason - totally irrelevant, like we're gonna care about economic theory after we've just done 3 years of that shit - some of the academics on stage even fell asleep.. i thought the vice chancellor actually nodded off at some stage LOL. After the daunting process of going on stage to collect that priceless certificate proclaiming our release to the world, whilst worrying about not tripping or falling down the stairs like some other people, it was over.. we're FREE!! Went home after that, then went to dinner where it was filled with more conversation and laughter, story telling with food shoved into our stomachs in the midst of it all. A great graduation, I reckon, minus some disagreements throughout. Great, nonetheless.

Two days later, it was time to bid farewell to Melbourne, my friends, and housemates. It was a stressful day caused by the freaking courier not arriving and last minute packing into a luggage which just about didn't close. With a bit of shuffling and expert positioning, it did! Phew a sigh of relief. Left for the airport at 6.15 after a teary goodbye to Won & Kyung Oh, I was on my way to the place where they keep aeroplanes.

After like 5 calls from mum worrying about me making my flight - ironic really, as my plane finally took off 40 mins late - got to my gate on time, with a queue longer than krispy kreme's grand opening.. we stood around taking photos, mucking about, trying to avoid the fact that I'm about to board a plane, and will not see my friends for a long long time.. :( Thank you to Chloe, Judy, Dom & Sheng for seeing me off and I will miss all of you (am currently missing all of you) from Perth.

So the damn 747 was filled with not a single empty seat, causing massive delays in boarding and missing our departure time blah blah blah... luggage queues could have filled up the arrivals hall, I'm back home.. Home Sweet Home.. or not?

Today, the 6th of Feb, the 49th day back in perth, I'm currently at work, bored out of my mind, doing random facebook quizzes until i can't be bothered sending invitations to view my quiz results.. and result in blogging. Gives me something to do I guess. My time in perth has been filled with work work work, and sleep sleep sleep. I remember when I first got back, I fell asleep at 9pm everynight, and my entire sleeping schedule was screwed up. Now i have to get up at 8.15 for work everyday.. (NOT HAPPY JEN!!) and sleep by 12ish on weeknights. I guess it's better for me, but hey, for a student that sleeps at 4am and wake up at 12, a big change!!

Anyhow, working life is somewhat different to studying, still needs getting used to. But hey, at least I have some time to blog again :D
